The Lesson by Lisa Bradley

The Blurb

SOMEONE’S GOT TO MAKE HIM PAY.

Evie has just started her second year at University. She is young, beautiful and popular. She should be having the time of her life, except she has something to hide – a one-night-stand with her English Professor, Simon.

Not wanting any of his other students to be used in the same way, Evie reports their relationship to University HR. But hours later, Village Vixen, the student gossip blogger, is baying for blood. She’s found out about the accusation and is firmly on Simon’s side.

But how could Village Vixen possibly have known? Evie can’t help but feel like she’s being watched. As paranoia and fear set in, the one thing Evie knows for sure is someone has to teach Simon a lesson…

The Author

Lisa Bradley is a former journalist and now Director of Learning and Teaching for Journalism at Sheffield University. Paper Dolls is her first novel.

The Review

The book is told from multiple POV which I found enthralling and interesting.

The characters all seem to have their own secrets and agendas and they weren’t all entirely trustworthy. This is written in such a way that as with the authors debut book, you wonder who is at fault, or is everyone guilty of something?

I’m certainly not going to give you the ending and I’d say that this is a very worthwhile book with which to while away the hours.

In the genre of thriller and #metoo I’d recommend this book.

With thanks to the publisher and the author for the advanced reading copy of this book.

Hi and welcome to my new blog. I’m reading and reviewing the books I read, after a long break I realised just how much I missed reviewing. I’ve been a voracious reader since childhood and I don’t imagine that changing.
If you would like me to read and review a book you’re bringing out, please feel free to contact me. If it’s not my type of book I won’t waste your time by agreeing. I don’t promise 5 star reviews, and I know authors do appreciate feedback , but I can only promise an honest review.
Genres I love include crime, thriller, tartan noir is a stand out favourite. I do also enjoy horror, and other fiction/non fiction as they take my fancy.
Please feel free to tell me if you have any recommendations for books to read whether they are already out or just about to. Reviews will be published on Twitter and Goodreads. Contact me here on the blog or email me at booksnbanter1@gmail.com
Many thanks
for visiting! Angi
